"Path of Irony"는 인간과 인공지능 사이의 복잡한 관계를 탐구하는 설치 작품입니다. 이 작품은 향수를 자극하는 형태부터 사람을 압도하는 형태에 이르기까지 과거부터 현재까지의 미디어, 인공지능의 발전 단계를 시각적으로 제시합니다.
바닥에서부터 천장까지 배치된 브라운관 TV는 인공지능이 생성한 콘텐츠를 보여주며 따뜻한 감정부터 불안함까지 다양한 감정을 자극합니다. 중앙의 타자기와 성인 잡지는 미디어와 인공지능의 분기점으로, 현재 생성AI와 그 사용자들의 단면을 보여주는데, 성적인 이미지를 생성하여 욕망을 해소하는 행위를 표현합니다. 더 높은 위치로 시선을 이끄는 작품은 관객으로 하여금 AI의 능력에 압도당하는 느낌을 불러일으키게 하며 절정에 이릅니다.
이 작품을 보는 내내 시청자는 AI의 능력에 감탄하고 이러한 경이로움을 자신의 삶에 활용할 수 있는 가능성에 대해 고민하게 될 것 입니다. 그러나 점점 더 강렬해지는 작품의 구성은 하루가 다르게 발전하는 AI의 능력과 이에 동반되는 인간의 의존성과 지적 능력 하락 사이의 극명한 대조를 보여줍니다. AI가 생성한 이미지가 점차 진화함에 따라 현실과 인공의 경계가 모호해지며 인간과 인공지능의 관계, 그리고 기술이 미래 세대에 미칠 영향에 대해 다시 생각해보는 계기를 만들고자 하였습니다.
'Path of Irony'는 다양한 형태의 미디어와 인공지능의 모습, 그리고 그 현재를 보여줌으로써 인간의 사고와 AI의 상호 작용에 대한 깊은 이해를 촉구하고, 급변하는 세상이 가지는 의미를 탐구하도록 안내합니다.
"Path of Irony" is an engaging multi-level art installation about the connection between humans and artificial intelligence. The exhibit shows the different stages of media and AI, from the simple past to the complex future.
The CRT TVs are set up in a rising order and display various AI-created images, evoking feelings from happiness to worry. A typewriter and adult magazines in the center of the installation represent the main focus of current AI image generators, which often create character-based and sexual images. As visitors move to higher levels, they feel more overwhelmed by AI's power, culminating in a fast-paced series of images that showcase the technology's history and possibilities.
The installation encourages viewers to think about AI's amazing abilities and wonder if they can use these in their own lives. However, it also highlights the difference between AI's growing skills and people's decreasing abilities, as well as their dependency on technology. The images make it harder to tell what is real and what is artificial, prompting us to think about our relationship with technology and how it affects the future.
"Path of Irony" helps visitors understand the connection between human thoughts and AI in a more accessible way, inspiring them to explore the hidden meanings of our rapidly changing world.
